Briar is 7 Months Old!
7 months of Briar is a whole new world! I'll admit, motherhood has gotten a bit more challenging now that Briar is completely aware of her surroundings, taking shorter naps, and teething. She has started major fussiness and crankiness, and cries when things don't go her way. She hates sitting alone in the car now, and tries to throw herself off our laps for fun and gets mad when we don't let her. But, on the flip side she is happy, fun, loves to explore, and is the light of our life. She's silly and loves to laugh, and she even imitates games we do with her. While things have gotten more challenging, I wouldn't change a thing with her.
Now onto the milestone update:
-Briar is sitting up! (For the most part). We create a barrier of pillows around her just in case she falls, but so far she has been sitting up as long as 10 minutes on her own. It's been amazing seeing her achieve this milestone!
-Briar's favorite puree flavors are strawberry and blueberry (no surprise to the strawberry as I craved those and pink drinks while pregnant with her).
-She continues to love Hey Bear, the dancing fruit and veggies catch her attention just long enough for mommy to get things done without her fussing.
-Briar has been fighting naps again and hard. She cries every time we put her down now, so that's been fun.
-Briar's new thing is to do an alligator death roll while I'm trying to change her.
-She loves brushing her tiny little teeth and will happily chew on the tooth brush.
She is currently scooting backwards and is working on crawling. She can get into the crawling position when she really pushes herself.

How I Did the Shoot:
Materials:
-Magic carpet towel
-Rajah stuffed animal
-Magic lamp
-Letter board spelling "a whole new world"

Tutorial Version 1:
First I hung the towel over the crib, then placed the letter board, Rajah plush, and lamp onto the floor. I then changed Briar into her outfit and placed her in front of everything on the floor laying down.
Tutorial Version 2:
I put the boppy and pillow on the floor to create a donut shape for Briar to sit in so that if she fell over it wasn't on the hard floor. I covered the pillows with the magic carpet and placed fluff around the sides to resemble clouds. I put the letter board and lamp in the back, and gave Briar Rajah to play with.
Tips photographing a baby:
-Set up while your baby is napping!
-Once they wake, feed them, change their diaper, then put on their outfit.
-Make it fun, have positive energy. Babies feed off you. If you are stressed, they will be.
-Get a binky that matches what you are photographing. If they get fussy at a certain point don't be afraid to get a few pictures of them with a binky.
-Photograph on the ground on their level, try different angles, get close ups, don't be afraid to move around.
-Use a squeaky toy and your voice to get them to look at the camera.
-If they are rowdy or in a grabbing phase, keep their hands busy with a toy similar to the theme.
